Garnier Skin Naturals - Light Oil Control Fairness Cream [Review]

I was recently sent the Garnier Skin Naturals - Light Oil Control Fairness Cream to try out, this is the newly launched product from Garnier Skin Naturals and it targets people with oily/combination skins.

Garnier Claims:
The cream contains natural lightening power of lemon essence, renowned for whitening the skin tone, fading acne marks and providing flawless fairness. This natural power is combined with a unique oil trapping technology, which gives the skin shine free, matte based fairness lasting upto 8 hours.  Furthermore, the Garnier Light Fairness Face Wash, used to clear impurities, make-up and which clarifies the skin, is a perfect complement to the fairness cream. Using the Garnier Light Oil Control Fairness Cream and Garnier Light Fairness Face Wash together yields the best and most effective results for oil free fairness.

Packaging:
It comes in a lemon colored squeezy tube in 20ml and 40ml packaging with a white cap on top.

Review:
The product has a thick consistency like whipped cream, you can see that in the swatch below and a satiny feel to it leaving the skin soft. When you apply it to your face it vanishes immediately giving a matte effect but may leave behind a white layer on some skin tones. It has a nice but strong smell, people over sensitive to fragrances may not like it.
I have a non-problematic normal to dry skin type so this product was something I gave my sister to try out who has a sensitive combination skin. I wouldn't recommend this for dry-skinned people as the moisturizing property is bare minimum and not nearly enough for dry skins.
After using this my sister was impressed with the oil control formula, her face stayed oil free for a good 4-5 hours after applying it in the morning where normally the oil starts appearing within the hour on her bare face. Hence it is definitely recommended for people who want to keep the slickness at bay for 4-5 hours at least.
It has pure lemon essence said to lighten skin and reduce dark spots; honestly it's been around two weeks and there hasn't been much difference in the dark spots; maybe more usage like 6-8 weeks may bring more results. However the sad part is it broke her out especially on the forehead.
The cream also contains UVA/UVB filters for protection from the sun but no SPF has been mentioned.

Price and Availability:

Available at stores across the country in both a 40 ml and 20 ml convenient tube with an affordable price of PKR 199 and PKR 99 respectively.

Rating:

3.75/5

Have you tried this girls? let me know your thoughts<3

  10. Hi dear, thanks for your input on my TCA post. I actually store this on store shelves and wondered what it would be like. I don't mind a stronger fragranced cream. You said that there was not much difference in dark spots over two weeks - I must say that i have tried so many different brands on the market to treat this issue and all of them have not really made a difference. I think its all just marketing. Have you noticed the same thing?

  16. I am not really much of a fan of this. I find it only controlling oil and not moisturising.
