I've used a lot of face products and foundations of Rimmel and I can vouch for them as they've always given me good results. With the same hopes I got their Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation about two months back and been using it quite a bit. Did it satisfy me? Read ahead to find out!

I had read nice reviews about this foundation and as I'd always had a pleasant experience with Rimmel foundations I decided to give it a try. One thing that really attracted me to it was the reviews about good coverage and God knows I need that!
This Foundation promises to be
Sweat, heat, humidity and transfer proof for up to 25 hours. Enriched with a revitalizing Mineral Complex and Moisturizing Aqua Primer. Skin feels energized, hydrated and lightweight all day.
First thing I noticed was the limited range of shades which is a big problem of drugstore foundations. I chose the lightest shade Ivory as my skin tone is between MAC NC20-25 and my skin type is Normal-dry.
The texture is thick and not very runny, which is good since it ensures coverage. It sets really fast once it touches the skin so if I don't apply it fast it would turn blotchy, on me it gives a matte finish which I don't particularly like, I prefer dewy, It isn't hydrating either as it claims, when applied it looks dewy initially but quickly turns completely matte eliminating the need for a face powder for setting it and ideal for applying blush and bronzer. Oily skinned would probably need a face powder because in excessive heat it does make you sweaty, Even though I don't have any dry patches that it can accentuate I feel for people with very dry skins or combination skins, it might do that so moisturizing is important.
I always apply moisturizer first and then primer. I love the coverage of this, it's medium to full, it covers red marks and blemishes well however I would not suggest layering it because it leaves a slight white cast which becomes prominent the more you apply. I can skip the concealor often times, but when I want a completely flawless complexion and that includes completely hiding some melasma marks that I have I use my concealors. It's fairly light weight, once it settles on the skin it feels like you're wearing nothing on your face.
I use my ELF studio flat top brush to apply it, it can be applied with the fingers too, I've tried that and it was ok, however with a stiple brush or a flat top one, an airbrushes effect can be achieved. The scent is a typical Rimmel foundation scent, floral and it tends to stay for a while after you apply it. Great thing about it is it doesn't oxidize on me, doesn't change color or anything.
Lastly the biggest claim it makes of staying on for 25 hours, on me it stayed as it is for about 10 hours with primer and more too if I hadn't removed my makeup, I put it on at 10am and till 8pm at night everything was nicely in place; without primer it needed some touch ups after 6-7 hours, which is fantastic in my opinion.
I've been using it in the moderate winters months in Karachi and it has proved great in that weather, however in the hot and humid summer months I'd most probably do an update on how it turns out.
In the picture on the right below I've applied Benefit That Gal brightening primer first then Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour foundation, followed by bronzer, blush and highlighter.

Price and Availability:
Good option for oily and normal-dry skinned women who're looking for affordable, medium coverage, matte finish and long-lasting foundation however not very ideal for extremely dry/combination skins!
Would I buy it again? Probably not, I'd go for something with a more dewy finish.
Have you used this foundation? What do you think?
