elf HD Blush in Headliner [Review]

I love the beautiful pigmentation and colors of the MUFE HD blushes, so when I heard that these elf HD ones were an almost exact dupe I decided to go for it without a thought. Wasn't exactly sure about which shade to go for so in the end I decided to get the most natural [lightest] shade in the range, called Headliner!

elf Claims:
Rich and creamy HD Blush naturally sculpts and highlights the cheekbones for a soft-focus effect that is great for everyday use. The Vitamin E enriched formula conditions and hydrates the skin for a healthy, radiant glow. Velvety soft, lightweight and highly pigmented color creates a long-lasting result for all day wear.

Press down gently on the pump to release a very small amount of color. Apply with finger or a stipple brush to the cheekbone in a tapping motion and blend in.

Wearing the elf HD Blush in Headliner

My Thoughts:
I like the packaging, it's petite and clean. The transparent bit shows the color of the blush which is great. The pump dispenses more product than you need so you have to be a bit careful with that.

A useful tip:
Shake the bottle well before pumping out the blush, because if you don't shake, what you get would be some oil after 20 pumps. So shake well, hold it upright and pump out the product.

Considered a close dupe MUFE HD blushes, these come in five beautiful shades. I have the shade Headliner, it's a pale nude pink shade that is perfect for everyday use providing that you apply it with a light hand. It suits most fair to medium skin tone.

The texture is like a foundation, but a word of caution! it dries up super fast so you have to be quick with the application, this can also be considered a big CON for the dry-skinned girls. For the oily-skinned ladies this is a product from heaven.

Very very pigmented so a teeny tiny dollop is enough for a single usage. Can be applied with fingers or Duo Fibre brush, I apply it with a stippling brush because it gives the best airbrushed not over-the-top look to these pigmented beauties. Contains glitter particles that tend to scatter when swatched but do not show up on the face.

The staying power is wonderful, it seemed incredibly fresh after 5 hours lasted almost all day. Can be used as a lip color too but as it dries out fast, texture is very much like NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream and so can be very drying on the lips and hence require a lip balm underneath.

Cons
May get messy especially when applying with fingers, it stains badly and the application and blending in general is tricky.

Verdict:
This has been my go-to blush lately, I wear this during the daytime as well as at night BUT you need to get the hang of how to apply this correctly and then viola!! :)
Really want to try the shade Superstar next!

Price and Availability:
I got mine from BeautyinBudget4u for PKR 699. It's available at the Elf Website as well for $3.00

  8. Ive never tried a creme blush before but I love the effect that this one has, looks so pretty on you and the colour is great. Its understandable about the messiness, maybe if you pump it out directly onto a makeup sponge, it won't be so bad?

    1. yes it would be better but the color is so very pigmented that I always dab the sponge/brush on the back of my hand before applying it! :)

  19. WOW Pretty shade ! I haven't tried any ELF products before - this product does look really nice, I'm always a bit dubious about liquid blushers I find them a bit tricky to work with - I can't seem to get the right amount, I tend to use too much and end up looking like a clown. It does look very pretty in that shade, I may be brave and get this at some point - I always like reading reviews of something I haven't tried before - or heard of. So thanks for sharing this with your readers. Hope you are well. Love Afsana <3
