Make your own Berry Lips!

Winter has finally arrived in Karachi after the longest summers it seems. One of the hottest trends for fall/winter is darker hues of makeup and berry lips. Yesterday I tried creating a berry lip with three lipsticks I already owned and the results came out great so I decided to click a few shots for you guys!

I hardly wear berry/burgundy/brown lip colors, I feel they don't suit me at all; but having seen berry lips on the runways for AW14; I felt like splurging bigtime on some lipcolors and on the top of my list was MAC Rebel, I swatched it and was about to buy it but something stopped me, when I came home I longed for it bigtime so this attempt was actually to create a dupe for that :p

What you would need:
-A lip brush [For lining the lips and to prevent bleeding, a neutral lip pencil can also be used]
-A concealor [for cleaning up]
-Couple of tissues [For blotting]

Lipcolors:
-A blue-toned red [I used Becute no 325 see swatch here]
-A plum-y pink/magenta [I used Karaja Cream 6 see swatch here]
-A shocking pink[I used Rimmel Show Off in Shocking Pink see swatch here]

How to go about it:
-Prep your lips with a lipbalm to avoid dryness and flaking.
-Line your lips with the red lipstick first and apply it all over your lips. Take a tissue, blot a little then apply the plumy color all over going twice all over the lips, blot again with a tissue, the color should be a cool toned magenta. Finally go in with a shocking pink color to warm it up a bit and give the 'berry' quality.
-The last step is to outline your lips with a concealor and blend to clean up any mess and make the result immaculate.

The result I got was pretty close to how Rebel looked on me, and it made me very happy! although in the pictures below the color appears a bit more pink toned probably due to the lighting!
