MAC MELBA BLUSH [Review]

This particular blush is responsible for my undying love for matte blushes. I had not planned on buying this; it was completely unexpected when I saw that it was instock on one of my favorite online seller's page and I couldn't resist giving it a try. After a thorough inner debate I gave in and bought it; my first MAC blush.

MAC Claims:
Melba Adds color & highlights to the skin. Provides subtle light refraction. Leaves a fresh, dewy & healthy-looking glow.

My Thoughts:
The packaging is standard MAC, Black with a transparent lid, which shows you the color inside which is much better than their lipstick packaging, which frustrates me so much while I'm rummaging around looking for a particular shade to put on.
The color is a burnt peach, a muted slightly rosy peach as you can tell from the swatch, that is also how it appears on the cheeks. The color is quite neutral and suitable for all skin tones. The texture is completely matte and soft. Good pigmentation, the color shows up in a single swipe and is ofcourse buildable too. When I swirl my brush in the pan, a little bit of product kicks up; other than that I find no difficulty in blending it, it stays put for 4-5 hours on me.
Colorwise, it's an ideal workplace blush or a daytime blush. On most occasions we usually skip the blush to avoid looking too over the top but with this blush you cannot go wrong. It looks natural when you keep it light and with a nude-y pink lip and simple eyeliner, it makes the best work/office blush, adds a bit of color to your cheeks and livens up the otherwise flat complexion. For formal occasions you can layer it under a shimmery blush to make the color stand out more like I have done many times with amazing results.
I've been using it a LOT but it hardly seems to have been touched at all, meaning a little goes a long way; so totally worth the money. The MAC Peaches blush makes me look sallow [I'm between NW15/NC20] which is one reason I chose this and I'm so glad I did.
